Simple Is Beautiful!

Friends for over 5 years now, Amy and I have seen a lot of changes in each other's lives. One thing we have both sought after is a way to create with our hands and share those creations with others.
Our first priority is caring for our families. It has to be. Managing the home and helping our husbands is our highest calling. Our children are our greatest labor of love! But there is another side of us. We have a side that is craving to bless with the work of our hands.

Amy's business began last year during Ramadhan. Horrified by the fighting in Aleppo, Syria, she and her husband set out to raise money for the orphans and widows who escaped. They participated in the challenge to eat grass for Syria. In this effort they raised awareness about the plight of the civilians besieged in various towns, forced to eat grass to survive. But Amy knew she could do more.
Years before she had watched the mother of her best friend sew for her family. Through the years, Amy got braver and braver with her sewing. During this season of mothering, and teaching she sewed the garments her family needed.
Yet knowing how hard it was to find these same garments at an affordable price, she turned on her sewing machine and began churning out garments that conservative women yearn for, beautiful modesty. In doing so she raised money, through her sales for the helpless in Syria.
Being that the availability of such garments is so limited, she soon found that she could not stop sewing for all the orders pouring in! Her family business was born! Affordable modest wear that was a blessing for the wearer and the family that produced it.

She understands her garments inside and out! Watching her I was amazed at how she could envision it so well that she uses no patterns and can simply cut with a working vision in mind. She offers khimars, jibabs, niqabs, abaya, long skirts, and thobes. Her clothing have a Middle Eastern design with an American flair.

Girl's abaya! So cute!

Many Christian women have found that the clothing associated with Muslim women is quite modest. There has been a reinsurgence of women wearing headscarves, much like our Muslim friends and why not? It fits the purpose nicely.
If you are interested in seeing more of Amy's work check out her web page www.simplebeauties.org  . I feel confident in her service and work. She has always been there when I needed her. I know she will continue to be a blessing to others also as she works alongside her husband to raise their family for God.
